Postdoctoral Experience

We welcome graduates who have recently completed their doctorate and wish to come to C-IHL as visiting scholars for a short period to interact with our team of researchers to pursue research. This program is mainly for early careers scholars who completed their doctoral research no more than 2 years at the time of their application. Note that at present you need your funding. As a postdoctoral visiting scholar at C-IHL, you will receive a comprehensive orientation that encapsulates cultural issues, the economy and politics of Canada, and finding your way around.

We will allocate you a mentor and help you develop your thesis or previous research helping you to turn them into publishable papers and submitting them for publication. You may also elect to pursue a brand-new piece of research on a topic that we have expertise in-house or with our partners. In addition, we will help you gain some experience in teaching in the postsecondary sector in Canada. Thus, you will be fully part of the Institute’s life. You will write a reflective report to conclude your postdoctoral placement with us, upon which you will receive certification to acknowledge your learning.
