Immigrant Executive Development Program (IEDP)

This programme aims to smooth the transition of highly skilled immigrants into the community and employment. Many immigrants come from their countries of origin to Canada with significant academic and professional qualifications, as well as executive-level experiences. However, many end up underemployed due to several factors. This programme aims to upskill them as well as break the barriers that prevent highly skilled immigrants from accessing job roles and entrepreneurship at the right level.

High-skills immigrant development activities in this programme include:

• Understanding the Western work environment

• Mentoring

• Coaching

• Industrial placement/Work trials in industry and hospitals

• Networking

• Cultural preparation

• Public speaking and communication

• Portfolio

Entrance requirement:

• Minimum degree (Masters). The undergraduate degree may be admitted with evidence of a minimum of previous 3 years of executive professional experience).

• Permanent resident status OR Work permit OR Applying to Immigrate to Canada.

• Willingness to live in New Brunswick or Atlantic Canada.

• Interested in preparing for executive positions or entrepreneurship.

• Proof of English or French language competence.

• Interview.

Assessment: Includes a combination of coursework, in-class tests, practice, and projects. 

Duration: 20 weeks
