For anyone in our community who wants to share their experiences. Monthly workshops where different social groups tell their stories of social struggles and successes.
Monthly workshops where different social groups tell their stories of social struggles and successes. The workshops target social groups that face a certain disadvantage in society and want their voices heard through storytelling. These could be groups of women and men, young and older people, immigrants or locals who are anxious about immigration, top-level executives, drug users, people who have overcome abuse, gay and lesbian experience, etc.
The workshops are facilitated by tutors and people who have their own stories to share. The outcome of the workshops is to generate reports or articles that can inform policy-making or energize other people of similar circumstances to start working toward overcoming issues they face or coming forward to lend a hand to those in need.
The workshops are free to participants. So, we rely on funding from various sources to provide this service. If an organization is interested in contributing or partnering with us on this scheme, please contact us at admin@city-ihl.ca to discuss.
