Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

This innovative program prepares candidates to teach in a variety of educational settings: secondary, postsecondary and industry depending on their specialization. The program takes the learners through key learning theories, the challenges of today’s educational system and classroom. It addresses issues of equality and equity. It also provides practical skills in planning and learning and assessing learners. The practicum allows participants to develop teaching effectiveness and have hands-on experience of the issues they covered in the modules. After the core modules covering all pathways, candidates specialize in their desired teaching sector: secondary, postsecondary or training.

This pathway is for candidates wanting to teach subject matters and trade in educational settings catering for learners over 16 years old. Candidates take the three specialist modules below and undertake their teaching practice in the subject they are qualified to teach.

PATHWAY 2: Teaching in International Education (Secondary)
This pathway is for candidates wanting to teach their subject matters and trade internationally in secondary educational settings catering for learners 11 – 18 years old. Candidates take the three specialist modules below and undertake their teaching practice in the subject they are qualified to teach.
