Higher Learning Diploma in Language, Culture and Society

This postgraduate level award is for candidates who have a high proficiency in a language covered by the programme (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese Mandarin). Candidates will have a minimum of B2 in the target language or be native speakers with a degree or masters’ degree in any subject. Candidates will study the history of the target language, as well as contemporary issues that languages face in society, including minority languages and the dominance of English. The increasing use of artificial intelligence in the study and teaching of language will also be covered. Applicants may have the opportunity to follow an option in interpreting or translation.
